I’ve been thinking of trying to make some wooden rings—to use up small bits of wood and (more importantly) to practise my skills (and patience!) working in miniature.
The article outlines three techniques for constructing wood rings: bent wood, layering, and combination. The author also nicely illustrates why a ring made from a single block of wood is structurally weak and includes some finishing tips. It’s a useful beginner article that complements FrankLad’s article on LJ.
I’m going to do some reading about small scale wood bending and will post anything that stands out. If anyone reading this has some good links, please share!
