After getting over my “must have every tool craze” (and I was lucky in that I could return all the stuff I didn’t need), 2 days ago I got a little RIKON lathe from Woodcraft that seems really nice (though I’m waiting on the chisels to come in) and today after first talking to the guy on Wednesday, I was able to get a perfectly working and little used Craftsman 12” Bandsaw for $75. It’s exactly what I needed to finish things and now I can use it to rough shape turning pieces and do all the other cutting I needed that I had been doing with a little coping saw. I’m sure not sad to say I won’t have crampy hands as much. haha
Just wanted to share…Very happy with the purchase and it even included the bandsaw stand. I was amazed at the price.
BTW: I’ve seen a lot of posts from people knocking Craftsman equipment but my father and grandfather have Craftsman tools that are easily 40-50 years old and still run like new. (of course they take care of their equipment) I’m not a fan of the new Craftsman power tools but at one time that really were excellent.
