It’s hard to get much done around the shop during the week but I managed to get some good time in tonight after work.
There’s still quite a bit left to do. I still need to fasten the top and bottom to the pedestal, they just posing for the camera. I also cut some 1/4 round to at the bottom of the pedestal to hide the joint between the base and the column. Of course, finishing still needs to happen. I’ve sanded the entire stand to 220 at this point. I’ll need to do some touch up here and there but big part of the sanding the sanding is complete.
The bottom looks a little clunky to me.
I’ve considered cutting a rabbet on the inside edge of the feet, trimming the bottom some and setting it down into the rabbet.
I’ve considered putting some sort of edge treatment on the bottom, but I’m concerned about getting down into the screws that holds the feet onto the bottom.
Well it’s late and I can’t think. If you have any ideas I’d love to hear them.
