I came in today to find my lease mate had left one of the windows open and the screen up. SO I went to close it and a was almost knocked over by a bird that was hiding in one of the plants near the window. So I opened all the windows, but our place is huge, so the bird seemed to have just disappeared. A few hours later I saw Debri.. our shop cat crying that funny hunting sound and running around in the wood stacks. She had found the bird.. a tiny little finch. The bird flew around the studio for a while, she chased it and chased it. I have branches hanging from the ceiling so there was plenty of places the poor thing could rest from the cat. So I broke out the camera and got a few pics before the finch found one of the windows and flew away. I feel like it was good luck and a bright moment on a dreary day.
