Can’t use the tablesaw, today..

Which leaves..

A Stanley No. 358 “Cordless” Mitre saw…..Had laid out one of the desk’s sides,,,needed to cut it from a plank…length was with the mitre box…shape?

Bandsaw to cut a rough shape..trace around, and repeat for the other side….then clamp together in the bench vise, and plane the rough cuts smooth and to where the 2 sides matched each other…which left the 4 faces to plane..

One way to support such a shape in a vise…all faces were planed, as I hadn’t decided on which will be the “show” face..might as well do all 4..

Set these 2 aside for a bit….the 2 narrow boards are next…one to hold the lid’s hinges, the other for across the front..Both needed planed flat…

The end on one of the needed squared up….mitre box again…Needed to know what length to make these 2…means I have to take the clamps off of the lid…and clean up the glue joints….

On both faces..

Then mark the narrow boards for length, and cut them…..

One more board….Desk needs a back…mitre box to cut that to length….will adjust width during joinery…

Maybe later, today?

Parts is Parts?

Stay tuned..
