After I sanded everything down, it was time to start painting. I took this last Sunday and ran a hard air line around the shop which included a regulator and a filter. There is a blog on that.
I also purchased a HVPL System at Harbor Freight, not one at the top of the line, more like lower end. Wanted to test thus and see if I can get the hang of it. I have an airless sprayer, but that goes through the paint and a lot of overspray.
I setup a make shift paint booth on the bench, took a large box and opened it up and after putting a plastic drop on the bench I used spring clamps to hold it up.
I set out to get these primed and ready for paint, still have a few drawers to prime. So far a few days of painting, I don’t have a lot of room in the shop to lean the doors up. Bit I am gettingbit done. I will have a little light sanding before starting with the chosen color.
Upper doors.
Lower doors and some drawers.
Drawer faces and a few drawers
Overall pleased with the HVLP System so far, a little experimenting with the viscosity of the paint and how much to thin it down, seems like around 5% is working out well. The disadvantage is the humidity that we have here. I have to keep an eye on the dryer, and discharge the water every now an then.
