Hello to all my fellow woodworkers.

As some of you may recall, about a week ago I posted about this Irwin Micro-Dial No. 22 adjustable bit.

In that post I mentioned that this bit can bore holes ranging from 7/8” – 3”. The smaller range of holes (7/8” – 1 1/2”) can be done with a brace that has a 10” swing. Having a brace with a ratcheting feature is helpful. Boring holes from 1 1/2” – 3” will take a larger brace. This is the brace that I am going to use.

I purchased this brace on Ebay for a little over $40, including tax and shipping. While the seller labeled the tool as used, I don’t think it was used much.

The jaws look to be in very good condition.

It has been well cared for in my opinion. Here you can see the Stanley next to my unbranded 10 inch brace.

I feel very confident that the Stanley will be up to the task of help me bore 3” holes with no problem. I think.

Stay tuned s I will be making a short video in which I will demonstrate boring holes with the Irwin Micro-Dial bit mentioned above.

That’s it for this time. Thanks for reading.
